Terms of Service
Effective date: 22 March 2026 · Governed by the laws of Singapore
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CLAce (“the Service”) at clace.sg, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
The Service is operated by CLAce (“CLAce”, “we”, “our”, “us”).
2. Description of Service
CLAce is an AI-powered educational tool that provides automated marking feedback on Chinese compositions submitted by Singapore Primary 4–6 (P4–P6) students, in preparation for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE).
The Service uses large language model (LLM) AI technology to generate scoring estimates, language feedback, vocabulary suggestions, and model paragraphs. AI-generated feedback is for educational guidance purposes only and does not constitute professional educational advice, nor does it guarantee any particular examination result. CLAce is not a registered tuition centre and the Service is not a substitute for a qualified human tutor.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with reasonable prior notice where practicable.
3. Account Registration & Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you confirm you meet this requirement.
- Accounts are created by a parent or legal guardian (“Account Holder”) on behalf of their child(ren). Child profiles are sub-accounts under the Account Holder’s subscription.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information. You must update this information promptly if it changes.
- One account per household per email address. Multiple child profiles are supported depending on your subscription plan.
4. Subscription Plans & Billing
Plans
CLAce offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Pro, Family). The specific features, submission limits, and child profile limits applicable to each plan are as displayed on the Pricing page at the time of your subscription.
Billing & Auto-Renewal
- Paid subscriptions are billed on a monthly or annual cycle in advance, via Stripe.
- Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- All prices are displayed in Singapore Dollars (SGD) inclusive of applicable GST, unless otherwise stated.
- CLAce reserves the right to change pricing with at least 30 days’ notice. Price changes take effect at the next renewal period.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via the account settings page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until that date.
Refunds
We offer a 7-day satisfaction refund for first-time paid subscribers who have not used more than 3 marking submissions during that period. Refund requests must be submitted to support [at] clace [dot] sg within 7 days of your initial payment. Subsequent billing periods are non-refundable. Annual plan refunds are calculated on a pro-rata basis for the unused months, at our sole discretion.
This refund policy does not affect your rights under the Singapore Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act.
5. Free Tier & Submission Limits
Free tier accounts receive a limited number of composition marking submissions per calendar month as specified on the Pricing page. Unused submissions do not carry over. Exceeding the free limit will require an upgrade to a paid plan to submit further compositions that month.
Submission counts are calculated per account (not per child profile). In the event of a technical failure that prevents marking from completing, the submission will not count against your limit.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Submit content that is unlawful, harmful, hateful, defamatory, or obscene.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or reproduce CLAce’s AI prompts, marking rubrics, or scoring models.
- Circumvent submission limits, access controls, or other technical restrictions.
- Create multiple accounts to abuse the free tier or any promotional offer.
- Collect or harvest any personal data of other users from the Service.
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the infrastructure or interfere with other users’ enjoyment.
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or other non-human means to interact with the Service without prior written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these usage policies without prior notice and without refund.
7. Content Ownership & Licence
Your content
You retain full ownership of the compositions and content you submit to CLAce. By submitting content, you grant CLAce a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process, store, and transmit that content for the sole purpose of delivering marking feedback and displaying your history within the Service.
We will not sell, licence, or share your compositions with third parties for commercial purposes. We will not use identified composition content to train or fine-tune third-party AI foundation models without your explicit consent.
Our content
The CLAce platform, including its code, design, marking prompts, rubrics, UI components, and all AI-generated feedback, is the intellectual property of CLAce Pte. Ltd. and is protected by Singapore copyright law. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or commercially exploit any part of the Service or its outputs without prior written permission.
8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
Feedback, scores, grade estimates, corrections, and model paragraphs generated by CLAce are produced by artificial intelligence and may contain errors, inconsistencies, or imprecisions. AI marking is designed to approximate PSLE examiner standards based on structured rubrics, but it is not infallible and should not be treated as a final or authoritative assessment.
We do not guarantee that following CLAce feedback will result in any specific examination grade. Parents and students should use CLAce feedback as one input alongside school guidance, tuition, and their own independent judgement.
CLAce is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in partnership with the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) or the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB).
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, CLAce and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from use of the Service.
- Any loss of data, loss of profits, or examination results arising from reliance on AI-generated feedback.
- Service interruptions, errors, or delays caused by third-party infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, Stripe, etc.).
- Unauthorised access to your account resulting from failure to maintain the confidentiality of your credentials.
Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total subscription fees you have paid to CLAce in the 3 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CLAce and its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) content you submit; or (c) your violation of any third party’s rights.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or your continued use poses a risk to other users or the Service.
You may terminate your account at any time through the account settings page. Upon termination, your personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) shall continue to apply.
12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be submitted to good-faith negotiation. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to the courts of Singapore, which shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
For consumer disputes, you may also seek recourse through the Singapore Consumer Association (CASE) or the Small Claims Tribunals where applicable.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, legal requirements, or business practices. We will notify you of material changes by email or prominent notice on the site at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
